PRO TECHnology, a pioneer in backup, disaster recovery and high availability solutions in the Middle East and North Africa and StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp., NYSE:STK), the storage services and solutions expert, announced its partnership to include the entire range of StorageTek’s enterprise class disks.
PRO TECHnology will be displaying StorageTek solutions in the Middle East during GITEX 2002 in its stand at Hall 4, Dubai World Trade Center. Under the terms of the alliance, disk storage systems of StorageTek are being sold, installed and supported by PRO TECHnology in the Middle East and North Africa. The contract extends PRO TECHnology’s commitment to providing first-rate storage solutions for its customers in the region and further strengthens its dedication to disaster recovery and the company’s Business Contingency Planning Services.
“We recognize that our customers’ most crucial asset is their data. Today marks another step in delivering customer-oriented business continuity and disaster recovery to ensure the safety of their data solutions,” said Jamal H Maraqa, PRO TECHnology Managing Director,
“The D178 is a high-performance, enterprise-level open-system disk solution that gives customers the ability to grow storage at their own pace without over-buying to support future online storage needs.” he added.
Tested for interoperability in storage area network (SAN) environments, the D178 works with major SAN hardware and software vendors’ products. Designed to minimize disruption to customers’ continuing operations, the D-series software suite now includes Snap Shot copy capability, dynamic volume expansion features as well as remote mirroring capabilities. The D-series software suite also enables customers to lower their total cost of ownership by sharing D-series storage with more than 64 servers in a heterogeneous environment through the implementation of SANshare(TM) Storage Partitioning.
“Our new alliance will enable PRO TECHnology to provide our customers with a significant return on their investment through seamless implementation and consistent design,” said David Beck, Regional Manager, StorageTek, Middle East and North Africa. “By recognizing that disaster recovery requires a complete solution approach, PRO TECHnology has shifted from being a product-centric company to one offering full business continuity services and disaster recovery capabilities. We are excited about this new relationship.”
